Maritime security experts to gather in Doha

Experts in maritime security will gather in Doha in October for the third annual QMARSEC conference, which will take place on 28 October at the Ritz Carlton Hotel  under the theme “The Future of Automatic Identification System (AIS) Technologies and Deployments”.

The annual QMARSEC conference provides a forum that encourages information sharing and cooperation among military, government, industry and academic maritime security experts from around the world. In the face of increasingly sophisticated transnational maritime threats, maintaining a technological advantage through the most advanced, high tech systems, equipment and electronic devices is more vital than ever, say the organisers.

An international survey among public transport organizations reveals that operators worldwide are continuing to invest in leading edge security technology, with the majority interested in adopting more widespread use of real-time surveillance and advanced video analytics to better protect their passengers, equipment and installations.
