FSG opens security training facility with
24-hour operation for busy Dubai clients

Dubai-based security services provider First Security Group announced the launch of its first fully integrated training centre facility at the Gold & Diamond Park in July.
The opening ceremony was attended by FSG's CEO and board member Maj Gen Abdul Aziz Al Bannai and the company's director of operations, Mr Riaan Smuts and attracted strong interest from the security professionals in Dubai.
Commenting on the opening of the training centre Maj Gen Abdul Aziz Al Bannai said: "The opening of this dedicated security training facility will expand our reach in the local security training market and is a major step towards the establishment of the First Security Group Training Academy."
The new training centre comprises fully equipped and modern classrooms and caters to the training and development needs of corporate clients such as private security companies and individuals. "We have taken into consideration all specifics and demands of the private security industry in Dubai and now the centre offers a 24-hour service to meet our client requirements. This will allow our clients to provide professional security training to their staff without affecting their daily operations," Japie Uys division manager of the training centre said: "The shift training will enable us to offer more flexibility to our clients, the majority of which are running non-stop operations." He added that the training centre will also conduct training programmes for woman in line with the increasing demand for female security personnel.
The training centre now offers a full profile of law-enforcement, basic security modules and military programmes, in addition to a number of computer courses directed at security guards. Its comprehensive list of law-enforcement offerings includes detailed courses in all police activities including bomb disposal, canine, crowd management, emergency services, forensic science, training the trainer, criminal investigation, management, operational police, prison department, special forces, traffic police and visible policing. All security guard training programmes and modules are certified by West Coast TAFE (Australia) and are presented by experienced and certified trainers.
First Security Group, together with its joint venture partner Specialist Training Australia (STA), is a provider of entry-level security training approved by Dubai Police. 
Installers win extra business after top job at Jordan's largest shopping mall
Security installer Ideal Trading Group has won a number of new retail contracts following a successful installation at Jordan’s City Mall.
The newly constructed City Mall has seen the installation of hundreds of CCTV cameras to help ensure the safety of shoppers and staff and to reduce theft from its many retail outlets.
Ideal Trading Group worked closely with distributor Norbain’s international sales department to ensure the project went smoothly and have won further work within the mall thanks to the success of the installation.
The City Mall is the largest mall in Jordan, housing shops, restaurants and entertainment areas. Ideal Trading Group was brought in to consult on the project and recommend a solution that would constantly monitor all entrances, exits and parking along with general views of the lobbies.
In all, over 75 Vista PowerDomes, 50 high resolution colour cameras and 150 high resolution varifocal domes have been installed to meet these requirements. All equipment is linked to Vista Triplex 320GB DVRs in the mall control room, also housing a huge bank of Vista colour monitors.
The installation has been carried out in phases and, although the final phase has yet to be completed, the project says Norbain, has been a resounding success. “Our initial brief was to provide security for the mall only,” says Haider Dajani of Ideal Trading Group, “but then a number of shops saw the benefits and asked for us to provide solutions for them as well.” Renowned international chains such as Virgin, River Island and Top Shop are now using general surveillance combined with loss prevention measures as specified and installed by Ideal Trading Group.
According to Dajani, the support provided by Norbain has played a significant role in the success of this and many other projects in the region. “We’ve been partnered with Norbain for a number of years and can say with all assurance that the service they have provided me with is excellent.
